We’re Mariah Stewart and Shelby Mawson, two sisters (in law) and small business owners.

As well as owning and operating Desert Garden Market, we have owned many other small businesses over the years. Shelby currently runs @kiwitees.co, an apparel company for moms and kiddos. Our parents also own a print shop called Tower Printing, located in Mesa, where we get all of our event printing done.

Owning a small business comes with wearing a lot of hats, here’s how the labor is divvied up:

Mariah - Event Coordinator, Social Media Manager, Marketing Manager, Public Relations Manager

Shelby - Graphic Designer, Venue Layout Designer, Financial Manager, Accountant, Event Production Manager

In addition to running businesses and raising kids, we are passionate about helping other small businesses thrive.

Our hope with starting this market is:

One, to create a space where small businesses can regularly be seen and supported within their communities.

Two, to make shopping small and supporting local businesses easier and more accessible to all.

Three, to create a shopping experience where you will be able to shop for gifts, food, apparel and home essentials for the entire family.
